Setup via the Cpanel, anonymous FTP allows the public to access files of your choice via the FTP protocol without an assigned username or password.

 

Autoresponder

Easily configured to work with your existing pages, the Autoresponder is a script that takes your input from a standard HTML form and sends it to an email address of your choice, then sends the client an email with text of your choice.

CGI Directory & Scripts

Everyone gets a cgi-local directory to allow them to run many of the installed CGI and Perl scripts for specific purposes. Script functions vary from simple hit counters to online shopping systems ('carts').

Databases, ODBC & MySQL

ODBC & MySQL drivers allow you to serve database files on the web. Additional formats are available too.  

Data Transfer

Every customer is allocated a certain amount of monthly outbound bandwidth that is used up each time a file is served from the site. The exact amount varies according to which hosting plan you choose. Most of our users do not use all their bandwidth each month. A fee of $8.00 per Gigabyte is charged for exceeding the fixed limit.

Disk Space

All customers are allocated a block of disk space in which to store all of their web sites files - pages, images, audio and video clips, etc. The size of the space varies according to which hosting plan you choose. Additional space is available at the cost of $6 per megabyte / per month.

Domain Name Registration

We can register domain names, such as yourcompany.com (or .net or .org as needed) and have it resolve to your web site. GoDaddy.com is about $9.00 per year, whereas InterNIC will bill you $35 per year.

Form Mail

A convenient script that takes input from an HTML form and sends it to an email address(s) of your choice. It is very easy to configure your existing form to work with Form Mail.

FTP

File Transfer Protocol is an Internet standard for moving files between computers. All clients
have 24/7 FTP access to their sites. You need an FTP program on your computer to upload files:

Download an FTP client. online, some are free. Windows users can use WS-FTP or SmartFTP ,
Mac users can use Fetch or Interarchy.

Logs - Statistics

All AIMwebs clients have detailed statistics programs on the Cpanel. Seven different analysis programs will tell you who, when, where from, what time, what browser was used, and how long a visitor was on your site. See the Web Stats in your Cpanel.

Mail Accounts & Forwarding

All Servers have limited e-mailboxes to receive mail, unlimited aliased addresses, forwarded e-mail, Web Mail programs to access your e-mail from anywhere. Look on your Cpanel documentation.

Password Protection

All customers have the ability to restrict the public from viewing all or part of their site on the web. By password-protecting a folder of your choice, only people who have a correct username and password are allowed to browse.

RealAudio & RealVideo

A popular multimedia standard for the web, RealMedia allows you to serve audio and video files in real-time regardless of the client's connection speed. Streaming capability is included with our Commerce Plan. The following links will allow you to download the Player software.

 

Secure Server

Our Secure Server (SSL) uses state-of-the-art encryption to protect the data connection between the server and the client from prying eyes. A necessary standard for anyone collecting credit card numbers or other sensitive data over the web. Offered with our Commerce Plan.

Shopping Cart Software

All clients servers can select from multiple Shopping Cart scripts to put a storefront on their sites. Visitors can browse your products or services, select items and put them into a virtual shopping cart, then checkout and submit ordering information to you for order processing.

Subdomains

Q. READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP A SUBDOMAIN?
A. To create a sub domain cPanel asks for the name you wish to use. MAKE SURE the subdomain name you give it doesn't have a folder already named that name. If it does the sub will not work.
Example... I want to create the subdomain test.momo.com so my sub name is going to be test. If I already have a folder in my ftp named test I need to delete it or rename it to something different before I create the subdomain with the test name from cPanel.

Q. What is a subdomain?
A. www.domain.com is a domain name. A subdomain is anything that replaces the www in a domain name. forum.hostgator.com is a subdomain. www.forum.aimwebs.com is not a subdomain.

Addon Domains

Q. What is an addon domain?
A. An addon domain is a fully functional domain that will work out of a folder in your main sites ftp.

Q. READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP AN ADDON DOMAIN!
A. You cannot create an addon domain if your dns hasn't proprograted to the server already. So after you change the sites dns you are trying to add you will need to wait 24-48 hours before attempting to create your addon domain. There are three fields cPanel asks for when creating an addon domain.

1. "New Domain Name:" You will put in the newdomain.com do not put www in the name!

2. "Username/directory/subdomain Name:" This will be the folder cPanel creates in your main accounts ftp. MAKE SURE that the name you give it doesn't already have a folder. Example... If you want to give it the username chris. You cannot have a folder in your account named chris already. If you do and still try creating the username for the addon domain to be chris you will mess a lot of things up!!!

3. "Password:" fill in any password you want here.

Q. Help I added an addon domain why did it say subdomain added?!!?

A. It creates it as a subdomain by creating the folder within your main sites ftp. Please ignore this! It is a fully functional domain name. It is only called a subdomain when in fact it is an addon domain.

A. AIMwebs will NOT place ads on your site.

Q. Can I upgrade at any time and how does it work?
A. Yes you can upgrade at any time by filling out our upgrade form. It is free to upgrade and the only charge would be the price difference in the plan you upgrade to.

Q. Do you allow sites to advertise for money, on their web site?
A. Yes, we allow sites to have commercial advertisements.

Q. What control panel do you use and do you have a demo?

Q. Can I pay monthly?
A. Our contracts are based on annual fees.

Q. Can I host friends?
A. Yes, you may host your friends.

Q. How long does it take to setup my account?
A. Your account will be setup within one hour during our business hours. After business hours and on weekends, please allow up to ten hours. Our hours are 9 to 6 EST.

Q. Are there any hidden costs, or setup fees?
A. None, except on the Bargain Server.

Q. How much is extra bandwidth and space?
A. If you need more bandwidth or disk space e-mail us to upgrade you to a higher plan. If you need more bandwidth or space then our highest plan offers please email sales@aimwebs.com for a custom plan.

Q. Do you offer telnet or shell access?
A. No due to security reason's we do not offer telnet or shell access.You are still able to unzip files on the server using our file manager as well as the ability to setup cron jobs.

A. Yes you can password protect directory's within cPanel.

Q. How do I create databases and manage them?
A. Login to your cPanel and click MySQL Databases. After your database is created you can manage it from phpmyadmin. This can be found at the very bottom of the MySQL page.

Q. What is the difference between shared ssl and private ssl?
A. A shared ssl displays as https//ip/~yourusername/ A private ssl would display as https://www.yourdomain.com in the address bar.

Q. How do I purchase a private ssl from you and what type is it?
A. We sell Comodo 128 bit certificates for $150 a year and include free installation. To purchase an SSL from us email us with your domain name.

Q. Can you tell me a little about Comodo SSL's?

A. Every place that sells ssl's has a different transfer procedure. You will need to ask the supplier you purchased it from.
